Liability Insurance
Liability policies are bought when a contract demands one. A review checks whether the policy would actually respond to the claim your business is most likely to face.
What we look at in your liability insurance policy
Public liability, product liability, professional indemnity and cyber liability all protect against claims from third parties. They're often purchased to satisfy a customer contract, at the minimum limit the contract specifies, and renewed without asking whether the business has grown into a bigger exposure. A Kavaach review reads the policy against your actual operations, contracts and client base.
- Which liabilities you actually holdPublic, product, professional indemnity, cyber, employer's liability: what's in place and what's assumed.
- Limits of indemnity vs. contract requirementsWhether per-claim and aggregate limits meet what your customers and partners require, and whether defence costs are inside or outside the limit.
- Claims-made vs. occurrence and retroactive datesFor professional indemnity and cyber, whether prior work is covered and what happens to cover if the policy lapses.
- Territory and jurisdictionWhether claims from overseas clients or under foreign law are covered.
- Exclusions and conditionsContractual liability, known circumstances, fines and penalties, and notification requirements.
- Deductibles and premium basisWhether the excess is sensible for your cash flow, and whether turnover or fee declarations are current.
Who should reach out
Service businesses, consultancies, IT and SaaS firms, clinics, manufacturers, contractors and event companies; any business that signs client contracts with insurance requirements; anyone unsure whether professional indemnity or cyber cover is actually in place.
Choose how you want to handle Liability Insurance
Both paths are complimentary and both end the same way: you decide.

Compare it yourself
Prefer to start on your own? Use the Kavaach self-serve portal to verify your number and compare what's available for your business. Some commercial lines need a person to compare wordings; if yours isn't listed, your Saathi picks it up from there.
- Enter your mobile number
- Verify with the OTP you receive
- Compare plans on the dashboard and buy
Kavaach is not an insurer, broker or agent. A review is a second opinion on fit and coverage, not a recommendation to buy, switch or cancel. We do not guarantee premiums, savings or approval. Whatever path you pick, the decision stays with you.
Frequently asked questions
A client wants us to hold ₹5 crore professional indemnity. Is that normal?
It depends on the sector and the contract. We'll help you understand what the limit means, what it costs, and whether the wording of the contract actually requires that structure.
What is a retroactive date?
On a claims-made policy, work done before the retroactive date isn't covered even if the claim arrives during the policy. It's one of the most important dates in a liability policy and one of the least read.
Do we need cyber insurance?
If you hold customer data, take digital payments or would struggle to operate through a system outage, it's worth understanding. We'll explain what a cyber policy covers and doesn't; whether to buy is your call.
Can we compare liability policies on the self-serve portal?
Liability wordings vary widely and are hard to compare on a dashboard. A Saathi conversation is the practical starting point for this line.
