Term / Life Insurance
A term policy is a promise to the people you won't be there for. The question is whether the number on it still matches their lives.
What we look at in a term / life insurance policy
Term and life policies are usually bought at a turning point: a marriage, a child, a home loan. Years later, the loan is bigger, the children are older, income has changed, and the policy is exactly what it was. A Kavaach review checks whether the sum assured, the term, the riders and the nominee still fit, and whether anything in the original proposal could create a problem at claim time.
- Sum assured vs. what your family would needOutstanding loans, years of household expenses, education costs, and existing assets, so the cover amount is a calculation rather than a round number.
- Policy term and premium paying termDoes cover run until your responsibilities actually end, or does it stop while a loan or dependants remain?
- Riders: critical illness, accidental death, waiver of premiumWhich riders you hold, what they actually pay on, and whether they overlap with other cover.
- Disclosures in the original proposalHealth, lifestyle, occupation and income disclosures matter enormously at claim time. We check that what's on record still reflects reality.
- Nominee and beneficiary detailsNames, shares, and whether the nomination reflects your current family situation.
- Traditional and ULIP policiesIf you hold endowment, money-back or unit-linked plans, we explain what they actually return, what surrendering costs, and what continuing means.
Cover that was right once, and drifted
Policies stay fixed; lives, cities and businesses don't. The gap between what you're covered for and what you'd actually need tends to open slowly and silently. A review measures it.
Illustrative only. These are conceptual examples of how cover can drift from need over time, not statistics, benchmarks or a prediction for any policy.

Frequently asked questions
How much term cover is enough?
There's no single number, but a common starting point is 10 to 15 times annual income, adjusted for loans, dependants and existing assets. Our guide on term cover walks through the arithmetic; the review does it for your situation.
I have a ULIP or endowment plan. Should I stop it?
Not automatically. Surrender values, remaining term, lock-ins and what you'd replace it with all matter. We'll show you the actual numbers for each option; the decision is yours.
Does a review change my premium or policy?
No. A review looks at what you have. Nothing changes unless you choose to act.
What if I didn't disclose something when I bought the policy?
Bring it up in the review. Insurers have a defined process for updating disclosures, and it's far better handled now than discovered during a claim.
